Aakash 4 PC TabletDataWind intensified the budget tablet segment with the launch of Aakash 4 PC tablet in the Indian market. Well known by the lowest price tablets, Aakash series of tablets fulfilled the technology requirements of middle class people who can not afford to buy any higt-tech gadget before.


 British manufacturing and marketing company together with India's Ministry for Human Resource Development (MHRD) launched cheapest tablet computer, Aakash with the aim to provide low cost tablet to every student under the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology.

Despite its rather unsuccessful run in the country, the Aakash tablet continues to excite tech enthusiasts. Compared to its predecessors, Aakash 4 PC Tablet saw changes in the hardware side of things, which enable it to dual-boot Android and Linux (through a microSD card). It has 1GB of DDR3 SDRAM as well as 4GB of internal storage and up to 32GB microSD support.Running on Android Jelly Bean ver 4.2 OS, the tablet has a 7-inch LCD display with 800 x 480 resolution. The battery on Aakash 4 lasts a good 3 hours of 720p video playback and will also go from 10 percent to 80 percent in two hours of charging. The tablet has Wi-Fi enabled and Internet is accessible through 2G and 3G SIM cards. Interestingly, the government also wants support for 4G dongles on the Aakash 4 tablet, as well as support of USB On-The-Go on one of the USB ports of the tablet.
